Late.Shri. N.R.K.R.Ravindran who founded STANDARD PRESS in his agility to provide employment opportunity to the mass around Sivakasi, as a requirement of the time and an establishment to aid Standard match industry and fireworks . He founded the company in 1923 as a print trading company, dealing with print production of  matches,fireworks labels and subsequently textbook, notebook  and diaries,etc. In 2007, STANDARD PRESS’s the golden year which won first best printing award for case- in- binding and third place in the best printing award for books by THE HINDU.

Being pioneers in the match and fireworks industry, printing industry was very easy for establishment and expansion, Standard Press managed to find its way to the first exports in the early 90’s.
